We don’t have to worry because MICROBE-LIFT has it all covered for pond people! As the season begins to change, nights get longer, days shorter, and there is a chill in the air that wasn’t there during the summer months. This is the time when trees begin to change colors.

MICROBE-LIFT/AUTUMN WINTER PREP and the Gallon Size for larger ponds becomes a staple with pond keepers. The first dose of the liquid goes into the pond when the leaves start to change color on the trees in your area. When the leaves begin to fall to the ground, that’s the time to add your first application of the dry packet(s).
Autumn Winter Prep is going to start softening up leaves that blow into the pond. Leaves are slow to break down and can build up, causing dangerous situations. They don’t just cause tannins to turn your pond water yellow to brown. They also change the pH and can create Sulphur dioxide. If they are allowed to stay long enough in the pond, they can end up creating methane gas pockets. Yes! That will kill everything in the pond. It’s not common, but it is possible.
Then, there’s the MICROBE-LIFT/LEGACY COLD WEATHER FOOD for your fish! When the nighttime water temperature goes below 65˚F, this food is highly digestible. It contains Wheat Germ and has minimum 32% Crude Protein, as opposed to Summer Staple with 36% Protein and Growth & Energy which has 40% Protein. Those are excellent foods for your fish, but if they can’t easily digest it due to the temperatures, you should feed them the Cold Weather Food.
One more suggestion for SEPTEMBER is to make sure they are healthy and pest-free going into winter. I recommend using SABBACTISUN and PARAZORYNE to make sure they are not under attack. Changes in temperature are stressful to our fish. So, this makes perfect sense to make sure they are parasite and bacterial-free. Note, the dosage for both is 1 tsp/125 gallons of pond water.
