MICROBE-LIFT has a few important products for your pond that have this warning on the label: Broad Spectrum Disease Treatment*, Lice & Anchorworm*, Phosphate Remover, Flocculant Plus, Sabbactisun*, and Parazoryne*.

Four of those are extremely important if you have sick fish.  Let’s look at these and the problems associated with them:  BSDT cannot be used if the water temperature has fallen below 50°F.  The reason for this is that the chemicals in BSDT becomes toxic at temperatures below 50°F.  For the remainder of these treatments, it is an issue of trying to ship them to the colder states in winter without freezing.  They, too, become toxic, not at 50°F, but, if they freeze and that is not what you want to put into your pond.

What can you do?

  1. Order at the beginning of the week or request it to be shipped at the beginning of the week. This is to prevent the product from being stuck in the truck over the weekend.
  2. Be home when the order is supposed to be delivered or have someone there to greet the delivery truck. The order must be brought indoors immediately.  You need to check the bottle to make sure it is not frozen at time of delivery.

If frozen:

  1. Do not use. First, notify the delivery company (Fed Ex? USPS?)  If you do not know who delivered it, call us 239-308-4331.
